National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots organization for people with mental illness and their families. NAMI provides hands-on support, education and advocacy through its affiliates all over the United States.

NAMI's website features in-depth information on each disease, including symptoms, treatment options, medications, and a list of resources.

NAMI also offers a free 12-week course called "Family to Family" that is taught by families. Its curriculum includes up to date information on the severe mental illnesses, research, evidence-based treatments, medications and strategies for care.

Schizophrenia.com is a non-profit website and online community devoted to providing help and in-depth information to people whose lives are impacted by schizophrenia.

Run by people who have the illness or have lived with (or loved) someone with the disease, the site includes discussion boards, blogs and FAQs on all aspects of schizophrenia.

ICCD Clubhouses

ICCD Clubhouses offer people who have mental illness hope and opportunities to achieve their full human potential through a proven community-based approach that complements available psychiatric treatment. 

Clubhouses provide a place where people with serious mental illness – who are known as “members” – participate in their own recovery process by working and socializing together in a safe and welcoming environment.  There is no cost for membership, no interview or "acceptance" process, just an open door welcoming anyone looking for support.
